About Tea
After years of trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, I realized that I have always been drawn to helping others and decided that it was time to get up and move. I wanted to do something with my hands, something that everyone can benefit from. These realizations and years of friends and family telling me what “good massage hands” I have led me to seriously consider massage therapy. I now devote as much time as I can to helping others relax and take control of their health and wellness through compassionate and therapeutic massage. By creating a safe place for decreasing stress and reconnecting with your body, you can begin to heal both physical and emotional pain. The healing process is a two-way road and I love giving a massage almost (if not more) than the person receiving it.
I received my massage therapy certification in April 2012 from The Soma Institute, where I was trained in:
Swedish massage techniques
myofascial release
clinical testing
kinesiology
anatomy
trigger point therapy
chair massage
sports massage
I am also certified in pre & post natal pregnancy massage therapy
Recently I have trained in Cupping at the Zen Shiatsu and would be happy to add it to your massage.
Continuing education courses I have taken include: Prenatal Massage Certification, Reiki Level I, Intro to Chakras, Infant Massage, Myofascial Release, and Cupping.
The Bank of America, Chicago Marathon: Volunteer, October 2013 & 2011 - Medical tent post-event evaluation and treatment of athletic participants
In my “free time” I like to garden, cook, do yoga, craft and spend time with my loving family and friends.
Tea is currently a busy mom of twin girls! I work at the Spa at Midtown Athletic Club Chicago, Astute Counseling & Wellness, and at the Chiropractic office of Dr. Lori Portnoy. Please email or text me to request a private session.
